"The Day 'Delhi' Stood Still.." @Ambipur Indiblogger Meet..

It was Saturday, 6th of July, when I geared up for the 4th IndiBlogger Meet of my life. The 3rd in New Delhi. I attended meets sponsored by HP, Spice and Vodafone in the past, so it was my first non-technical IndiBlogger meet.

I reached the Hyatt at the Delhi Bhikaji Cama Place at 1.30PM sharp because you just can't miss even one segment of IndiBlogger meets. There were a dozen bloggers standing right outside one of the gates of Hyatt waiting for entering the "holy place." I greeted a few and introduced myself.

I made some straight away friend in Saransh and Sameep and came to know that its their first meet. I felt like a mentor there. The feeling was funny. As the ball room was still yet to open... we had some cookies and a cup of coffee outside the ball room. Those were delicious and exotic.

Once we entered the ball room, there was a great atmosphere inside... Everything was just FreshNHappy... all thanks to Ambipur. Saransh, Sameep and I sat together.

First up, Anoop Johnson showed us the pics mailed to indiblogger by the bloggers. The images were of things that stink and only Ambipur can help get rid of its bad smell. A guy named Jatin Israni took self shots and mailed  to Indiblogger,  he looked very high to Anoop. High as in ecstasy. The winner was of course a pic of "DogShit" captured by a girl, I forgot her name.

The second segment was by Nihaal, he gave us a crash course on headbanging... literally... you must be wondering, what the hell is this headbanging. I wondered too. But after a while, I started enjoying it and was missing my long hairs I used to have 2-3 years ago. When they played the music during the headbanging, I felt like a part of a metal band.

After this, there was the intro session, not the usual 30 seconds of fame, but for people, who could never introduce themselves even after 3-4-5 blogger meets. They broke the silence finally. There were many interesting intros and some charming ones as well. And a long one by some Chartered Accountant.

Some of the intros that I remember were from Gv Sparxa friend of mine from the blogosphere who spoke of Akanksha Dureja, another friend and an Indiblogger Meets enthusiast and told us how she misses Indiblogger Meets. That was a beautiful gesture. Another Intro I remember was from Jyotsana Verma, she spoke of her blog which makes organ transplants readily available for the needy, she is really doing a fantastic job as a blogger. Another blogger's intro was longer than his own career as a CA, I am not sure what he was talking about, but I guess he started narrating some real events of his life. It was weird.

Just after the intros, we were asked to do lunch and return within 45 minutes to our seats. The food looked divine; Biryani, Chicken, Pasta, and many more made it look so outlandish, added with desserts. It was lovely and made all of us FreshNHappy. During the lunch, I spoke with Sir Arvind Passey and Arvind Mohan about the former's interview with Mr. Arvind Kejriwal. I also met his wife Mrs. Sangeeta Passey, it was lovely meeting the lady. Sir passey even complemented me, by saying that I look more glamorous in real than in my facebook profile picture. I was like whoa.. but honestly, that is a way of a gentleman making others comfortable around him. Later we discussed about interesting blogging contests with Aditya Bhasin and Ankit Chugh

During the lunch, I hand shaken some more people, to remember a few, Himadri, Gv Sparx, Priyanka Dey, Tanya Garg and Anubhuti. Anubhuti was a lovely poet and gave her intro in a poetic way. Well that was it.

Just before I was entering the ball room, I finally got the chance to speak to the craziest people in the world, "The Viral Fever Guys: College Q-tiyapa". I am a big fan of their gags and when I was talking to him. Some dialogues from their "Gangs of Social Media" Gag were revolving in my head, especially this one; "Facebook ka, Twitter ka, LinkedIn ka, sab ka ID banayega tera faizal..." Click here to go through the video on YouTube. It even featured on YouTube's homepage for a week or so.

The real craziness started only after the lunch. When I went back to the ball room, I found that the seats are changed and it was hard to find a vacant seat. Anyway, I found Saransh and Sameep and joined them in some of the central areas of the ball room. A lady, from the Ambipur Team grabbed the mic and asked the bloggers about different kinds of bad smell. We were provided an Ambipur Room Freshner, during the time she spoke. I got a "Blossoms and Breeze."

Distinguished by different fragrances, we were divided into teams, each team had a different fragrance as a symbol. Ambipur Room Freshner comes in many fragrances, so we had a good number of teams. Even there were two teams within a team. The teams were to perform and make a little act, kind of a commerical for the Ambipur Freshners. Even there were Project Managers for each of the team, my team's Project Manager [yeah.. literally] were Ashish and Jasmeet

So our act was a bit illogical, actually it made no sense at all.. :p, our act was to sing a romantic song and change a few words and stuff Ambipur in it.. haha... I know it sounds weird.. So I did the playback singing for Gaurav Agarwalla, Himangi Bhardawaj and Cheena Chopra, who performed on the song I sung; jaadu teri nazar.. Well there were some other segments of our act as well, but its better not to talk about the weird act anymore. I had a little chat about random things and became friends with Jeffrey, Gaurav,  Vikram and Mahima. Mahima was a facebook friend already, but I haven't met her till then. Among other team members I remember were Aditya Nath Jha, Pulkit Juneja, Ashwani Kumar, Rakesh Narang, Rohit Chugh and Vivek Chamolli

Speaking of performances, there were some really fantastic ones. The one in which zombies were killed using AmbiPur fresheners. A blogger gave a 'never to forget' expression after turning into a zombie in the act. I loved that act.

Another act were smelly cats [the anti hero/heroine] was shot down by AmbiMan [the superhero] was cool. When Ironman, Batman, Superman and even HanuMan failed. AmbiMan did what must be done. This act won.

Anyways, after that, the defining moment came... the one my title is all about. Anoop asked us to define our blogs in a pose, and there was some really interesting poses. It was the best moment of the meet. A lady with arms widespread and head towards the sky [ceiling] was selected as the one with the best pose. Although, I had a similar pose too, but they certainly didn't notice my pose. [And I have no grudges with IndiBlogger Team for this..]But I am really happy that IndiBlogger asked all of us to define our blogs in a pose, it made me love blogging even more. It was so simple yet so tough to express your blog in one body posture. I just loved every single pose. In a way, they all made sense.

Just minutes before I was leaving Hyatt after grabbing my t-shirt, [the 5th one by Indi], I saw Priyanka Dey with Garima Obrah and had a minute long chat with her, and I saw Tiku Di coming with her son. It was a wonderful feeling when she recognized me. I could not resist to capture a photograph of the three beautiful ladies.

IndiBlogger Meet is one event, where nothing is non-sense. All your crazy ideas are appreciated by the other bloggers. People respect you for the idea you made. Nothing is crap, when you are an artist.

If you aren't a blogger yet, just be. Find your skill and make a blog out of it.

P.S: I have mentioned so many names in my post, as an expression that it is really nice to go out and socialize.
It is good to have so many like minded friends who understands your passion for something. It took me 4 blogger meets [3 in Delhi, 1 in Mumbai] to really come out of my shell and talk to other people. But when I did, I was more than happy, people are nice, they are ready to accept and listen to you. Life is beautiful.

My Versatile Bloggers.

[This blog post is primarily focused on the bloggers I truly admire for their work, kindly forgive me for providing any content you find unnecessary for the title of the post. This one is all about my admiration for some true artists.]

I can proudly call myself an official versatile blogger now. Reason: The Versatile Blogger Award given to me by one of my close writer friend Harshita Shrivastava. Thanks a lot Harshita.

A few words about this wonderful friend of mine.

Harshita is a great writer, who pours her heart on paper, I have read almost all her blog posts on Relationship Vows, and I say every time "Man, that was so very true".  She also writes book reviews quite regularly on her other blog, Dream V/s Reality. Harshita once sent me her manuscript for reviews, which I have preserved in my favorite book rack, although I never replied to her about how I liked her work because I thought I am too ordinary to judge a 'class apart' substance. Harshita is going to be a published writer very soon with her debut novel "One in a million". I wish her all the best for the book and all her future endeavors.

Now there are certain rules/rituals with these awards, you must follow these if I pass it on to you.

The blogger is back

After a long blog sleep of a 25 days, I am back to blogging with some new posts, one of those I put yesterday only, you must read it HERE. Anyways, that was it, I am here to tell you what happened with me in these 25 days, I started the February month in style and with great enthusiasm, I posted a blog on the 1st of Feb, and was looking to have a great month of blogging ahead, but then, as we know, life is so full of ups and down, my blog went downhill, and I couldn't help but watch, I was busy with my personal life so I didn't care either. I and my folks have started this company called DNT Softwares, we make websites for organisations of all kind, kindly contact if you need one. So some pre launch preparations got me busy the first week, then 6th to 11th, I was having a secret vacation [Ahh yes, even bloggers have secrets], can't write much about that, only know, I had a blast there for 5 days, if you still care to know more, make yourself free to CALL ME, on the 11th feb, I left for Delhi, only this time, by a bus, reached delhi at midnight, the date was obviously 12th feb by then. I exhausted my self with some 20 hours of bus journey. I couldn't collect myself for blogging till the next day, and when I did, I realized that the journey is long and now I have to leave for my hometown on 13th Feb. I cursed myself for not blogging since 12 days, I had promised to blog more often this year, so I promised myself as soon I would reach home, I would start posting blogs frequently, but that did not happen. I saw my father is using a 2kbps dongle powered by MTS, and it is called a BLAZE, huh.. how can you even name things like that, which gives a speed of 2Kbps. I lost hope in me as a blogger, I thought of going to some cyber cafe but I lazied there. Before I left home, I made sure to get installed a 1 MBPS internet connection on my last day there. Anyways, let bygones be bygones, I have came here now to write my grief, my thoughts, POVs and everything a blogger does, the blogger in me is still alive, I have posted a blog yesterday and now here is another, a rather personal though, but I still have a lot to post, in the next 24 hours. just have faith in me and I will write more.

My IndiScore: Coming of Age.

It was june 2011, when I joined IndiBlogger, I was a less frequent blogger then (am still only a weekly blogger) with some 40 posts on my blog, Indiblogger analysed my blog score 57, considering my 40 posts. But now I was no fresher to Indiblogger, it started to analyse my score on the basis of my monthly Activity, so in the next month, I managed to get only 35 out of 100, this made me understand how I need to be more frequent with blog-posts, the next time I leaped my way through 38, posting a couple more posts than the previous month that passed. In the next month that followed, I came up with a good 58 scores, I was satisfied, but still I wanted to attain the 70s and 80s and perhaps 90s mark. The next score came down to 53, but somehow I managed to keep myself in the 50s.

And then this happened:

I went to attend HP Indi Blogger Meet in New Delhi on 11th of December, 2011, and learnt a lot from many bigger names in the Art of blogging, and made some friends and admirers too, I found some legendary bloggers too in that "sacred" event, whom I admire a lot when it comes to writing/blogging. Although I posted only 6 times since that bloggers meet "extravaganza", my blog has got huge number of hits, it made a flaunting impact with December 2011 being the highest visited month of my blog with 700 visitors, and then January 2011 surpassed the previous best with over a thousand hits in just 20 days and still counting. As for comments, 16 people cared to comment on my blog post before the blogger meet, but these 2 months have been revolutionary for my blog, a growth of over 300% more readers and 2000% more comments, my indiScore came of age and is now a whopping 72.

I wish I keep up the good score to higher extents..

2012: Plans and Strategy.

Of all the new years that came in the recent past, 2012 is perhaps one of the most important one, for personal, academic and global reasons. I wish a very happy new year to all my readers, I hope all of you do well in your lives, while I'll try to write even more on my blog than what I claim. Speaking of which, I must share with you the resolution I made on January 1, 2011, I promised myself to be delivering blog posts at least twice a week, but all I could do is 1 post every 2 week. that was sad and of course my bad.

I blogged 27 times last year and I am really disappointed with it, I am not going to have a future for my blog if I go on like this, so starting with some resolutions:

1)    I will blog at least once in a week. [not being too ambitious]
2)    I will try to be a better human being and citizen of my country. [one should always consider this one]
3)    I will release my book, before 23rd of April. [this one is really important]
4)    I will be reading more and more now. [read more, write better]
4.1) I will move on a little from fiction and read some real material like Biography or Philosophy.
4.2) I will start reading Mein Kampf by Adolf Hitler, this week only [its my dream read]
5)    I'd start earning this year [it will be important to mention for motivation]
6)   'I' will be more productive than usual. [will explain it after something I will produce out of creativity]
7)    I will be a bigger researcher of the Hollywood Industry. [I already am, but'll dig more nose than usual]

And now some thanksgiving as I did it last year as well, before that I should pour some stats over the place below:

Total number of visitors in 2010: 1580
Total number of visitors in 2011: 4190 [that is when I joined Indi Blogger]

people from Finland hit my blog the most of number of times in 2010, this year in 2011, its USA, where my blog has been read some 700 times. [both the countries are behind India of course]so thanks to all the Americans out there, and there is this reader from Mountain view, California who really likes to read my blog, thanks to him/her as well, and I'd say thanks to Indi Blogger who are mainly responsible for having an almost 300% growth of visitors on my blog in one year.

Biggest Event of 2011 for me:  December, The HP Indi Blogger meet in New Delhi, it introduced me to great bloggers from India.
Next best thing that happened with me in May: Mail Today published my little articles thrice on 5th, 19th and 24th may in their Interactive section. It was really appreciating. Links are HEREHERE and HERE.

Thanks for the enhanced appreciation.
I couldn't ask for more in just 18 months of my blog.

The Indi Blogger Meet: A lifetime Experience

Yesterday, It was a Sunday of course, but mind you it was not an ordinary one. I have been postponing my plans to attend a INDI BLOGGER MEET since last 3 months but finally I attended this one held at The Park Hotel, Connaught place and I realized instantly what an amazing event I had been missing since months as soon as I entered the Auditorium.

I took a seat in one of the middle rows, when a blogger on radio activity introduced himself to me as Alokesh Gupta and took a seat beside me, I had some interesting chats with him on blogging and writing. Then came a blogger called Purba Ray who made everyone at ease by knowing a bit about their blogs.

It was all chit-chat going on when the 1st segment of the meet took place. The Country Head of HP himself gave a presentation on "Original vs Fake". It was primarily focused on the new range of HP Printers, but the presentation gave a contrast on original blog post written. Good work there by Team HP.

Segment 2 : The Who's Who Round..? Our names were being outcast on the projection and we needed to define our blog and us as well in 29 seconds as the segment it self is called "29 seconds to fame".  I witnessed some great [or say interesting] bloggers out there, I would like to recall a few: there was this Karan Lugani who called himself a scientist, he goes to some school but I respect his way, he surely had a point in whatever he said.

An Old man in his late 60s was there, he told us that he has been a classmate to Amitabh Bachchan, so in a way I have an association with Mr. Big B now... lolzz.

there were some sensible ones as well, a girl called Jyotsna Verma talked about transplant of kidney and liver and people did like her unanimously and took her pretty seriously. In case you need to know more about her endeavours just Click Here.

so, from engineers to home makers to scientists to some wanna be Rushdie(s) I saw and heard everyone.

after the Intro session was done, we were to make teams 0f 20 for a treasure hunt game, we lost it, because we fall short of smart phones. fair enough. thats you cal count as segment 3.

we had a little bit of lunch and coffee afterwards, during the lunch I interacted with more wonderful bloggers, Perfectly Imperfect and Tejaswi, they were all so inspirational, well...the food was good though.

the 2nd last segment was the best, we carried a 'board of praise' on our back, and others, if they like to, can autograph the board with some message, messages could be anything, a praise or an abuse or anything particular you want to say, I got a few interesting ones as well. [see the picture on the right..!!].

We had a fun last segment, thanks to some great names : Kapil Sibbal, Digvijay Singh, Mark Zuckerberg, Larry Page and others including Suhel Seth, the bloggers did role play for each one of the mentioned name, being inteviewed by Prateek Shah, who himself was role playing for Rajdeep Dutt Goswami.

After I have returned from my first IndiBlogger Meet, I have become blog-struck and reading as many blogs as possible, I have bookmarked some 20 blogs and its like birthday gifts for me, as I am not sure which one to open first.!!!

was a great experience, am not going to miss any of it in future...

Who ultimately turns out to be a HERO..?

Since birth, a fascinating thing in my life is being a HERO, not particularly a superstar in Bollywood or in any other film industry, but being the stud, being the one who would have the helping hands, if we talk in an affirmative way. As I grew older, my definition for a HERO kept changing through time. During the first half of the  90's I only believed that HERO is actually a leading bicycle brand in India but later on during the second half  I found out that its the men who get opportunities to save beautiful women from the goons and have great time dancing in rain with them are the real HEROES, that was how I messed up with important words during my chilhood. During the first 5 years of the 3rd millennium when I was in the interval of 12-16 years of my age, I started watching a bit of news channels and I came across the names of leading industrialist, politicians, millionaires, philanthropists and Movie stars with asking rates in some Crore(s) per movie, my concept for a HERO took a completely different shape, I considered this theory with the formula RICHER = BETTER HERO, that was too kiddish..ain't it..? then after 2006, I came across books, books as in novels, stories, biographies etc which showed me the more artistic form of printed paper, before that the most serious thing I ever read ended either on calculus, mechanics or organic chemistry. Anyways I started reading novels and other great books by great people and I never stopped, I found HEROES in those authors who made me fall in love with their books, I aimed to be like them, or rather say I aimed to be them, one of them. I found wisdom in their thoughts and I wanted to think like my favorite authors, their clarity, I wanted to have that clarity, I read more, I started writing, writing for me, writing for others, writing to impress, writing to insult, writing to romance, writing to revolutionize, writing became an obssession for me and I saw myself become a better writer with every new project. And now the little secret I wanna share with whatever readers I have, I BECAME MY HERO, before anyone else, I admire me. Because in a way my writing started to impress me as I tried to write always better than my previous attempt and you can only be a better doer, if the ultimate source of doing id you, yourself and the conclusion I made out of it, its not what you are, how much you earn or how well you present yourself, you can only consider someone a Hero, if 'his' acts become 'your' passion.

(No matter what, even an antagonist can become your life's biggest Hero...
and yes... its not my egomaniac personality...I have my heroes intact in my mind, but I don't wanna share them now, I will write separate post for them later...)

Lets have 'em One on One

I was watching this movie called "Million Dollar Baby" starring Clint Eastwood, Morgan Freeman and Hillary Swank, it is one of those rare inspirational flicks you can watch just many a times.

All of a sudden, I came across the idea of doing a One-on-One comparison of Actors from Hollywood and the Hindi film industry.

After many disagreements in my head, I have thought of the following actors, who are similar in their style of acting and the roles they get to play and by simply because of some similar facts.

1. Clint Eastwood vs Feroze Khan, although Eastwood is a much bigger name in his fraternity, but these two actors have kind of a similar body language and attitude, don't forget Feroze Khan was our only cowboy hunk.

2. Morgan Freeman vs Naseeruddin Shah, great actors and legends both of them, but what is common link is their intense role play, they can do comedy to romance to sci-fi and thriller with unbeatable class acting.

3. Hillary Swank vs Priyanka Chopra, fits in every character they play, they are fast, athletic, sweet and can switch between being a girl and being a woman.

4. Bradley Cooper vs Hrithik Roshan, I don't have proper words to explain this one, but their personalities and expressions are almost identical.

5.Jason Statham vs Salman Khan, If there is a cop or any 'over smart' character to be played, there are no better name than Jason or Sallu. They fight, they dance, they romance and they beat the shit out of any goon in the town, and they never panic.

6. Tom Cruise vs Akshay Kumar, if there is a need to remake Mission Impossible in India, there is no second choice than this Khiladi called Akshay Kumar, both of them are real stunt men, need not to say anymore.

7. Tom Hanks vs Aamir Khan, If Tom Hanks is perhaps the finest actor in hollywood, we have Aamir Khan on the counter-part, perfectionist, intense and master of their skills.

8. Drew Barrymore vs Kareena Kapoor, they are beautiful, graceful, great actors and have a long line of predecessors in their families, their families are into cinema for more than 75 years now.

9. Russell Crowe vs Ajay Devgn, blessed with great acting the two of them, dives deep into the character, and delivers something extra ordinary, just take 'a beautiful mind' and 'once upon a time in mumbaai' for an example.

PLEASE do Comment... and tell me your agreement and disagreement on each one of them...

Thanks...

A Day With Bollywood

I am with my family in delhi this week... and I am loving the idiot called TV, as it was a saturday today...it kept showing superhit masala bollywood films and great cinemas from Hollywood, in every possible channel,

When I woke up, I started with KABHI KHUSHI KABHI GHAM, SRK was doing the as usual overacting stuff.
the film was so sweet... I felt like a diabetic in 2 hours.

then it came to an end finally... simultaneously I channel-ed through MAINE PYAR KIYAPYAR KIYA TO DARNA KYA and MUJHSE SHAADI KAROGI as well, but I lost touch with MSK after a few breaks.

upnext K3G, enters SHIVAJI THE BOSS, I rescued myself from rajnikanth as fast as I can.

just 10 mins after I escaped SHIVAJI, I noticed MPK have finished, and now its one of the most talked about brothers showing up on television in and as KARAN ARJUN, its one of those movies, I lived for, at the time of its release,

now I can only make out one remark for KARAN ARJUN, YucKK... how could I love this movie, its like one of those Mithun chakravorthy movie which contains no sense at all, except for non-sense.

PYAR KIYA TO DARNA KYA is one of my favorite hindi movies, hindi film industry should make movies like this more often, its a sweet, simple college love story with a hint of action and family drama, but has good actings by everyone.

Just when I thought its all over, SRK came back again with DIL TO PAGAL HAI, how could I miss it, its not that bad, so I watched it too.

meanwhile I channel-ed through MEN IN BLACK PART 1 a few times, but my mother just not led me change the channel much so I sticked to the Sweetness of Yashraj Films.

Oh My God...

The World Cup: An Indian Edition: part 3

I would apologize I had been a lazy blogger in the recent past, I wanted to write a lot on the world cup... but I just could not make it, my friend Anshul  Agrawal complains a lot.. that I take a lot of time to write the "to be continued" post... at least he reads my blog in that process... very thank you for that...
